The models and the predictions by the Hurricane Center have been impressive with the shitshow of a forecast this was until basically the last two days. Trying to predict how a typhoon spilling into the upper Pacific would disperse it's energy into the jet stream and how it would create the deep trough that brought us the cold front this week, where it would be at this point, and picking up on a little shortwave low days ago.
For those curious, go back and read the early pages in this thread to get a feel for how fricking complicated it was and sit in awe that our computers and forecasters got as close as they did six or seven days ago.
