I wouldn't bank on that after a major hurricane cuts up the length of the penensula. Trees, flooding, and other bull shite will make getting supplies around much more difficult.
Man, we had like military hovercrafts and crap coming up on the MS coast after Katrina passed.
It isn't pleasant to get it or wait for it, but there's water. And weeks? It will be maybe a day. No one is going to die of thirst.

What's the prognosis for Tampa or Orlando areas? Cat 3 or 4 going through still?
The huge unknown for Tampa is which side the eye passes. If it passes just to the right of Tampa, then the bay water will be pulled out away from them. However, if it passes to the left, the winds blow opposite and will push all of it onshore. It's the difference between dealing just with high winds, or high winds and massive flooding.
In the last day or so, things have really turned bad from Tampa, if the models remain the same.

I bet you don't have to worry too much about that Fast Pass silliness to get on all the good rides quickly, though.

A day like today (and tomorrow if they're still open) might be the best days to be at Disney. No lines, not too hot, plenty of cloud cover.

These are fair and interesting points I hadn't considered yet.

We are 9 miles inland.
Hey glass, there is nowhere to go. With traffic and no gas, we would be stuck in our vehicles. We have to stay.
You have time. In 54 hours, this is what the HMON model believes will be at your door...

Liz, those stations I told you are out. I see nothing close.

I think I know your friend's friend. There can't possibly be two idiots heading TO Orlando in the midst of a CAT 3/4 event.

We have 300 million people in this country. I assure you there are more than two heading that way.

That small world ride is gonna look awfully different when it's swirling over your head at 100 mph

TH03 go to your local NWS site: NWS Tampa
Then click on the hurricane warning and find your county for statement for your specific location. Hurricane local statement
For coastal Hillsborough it says equivalent cat 1.

120mph gusts are anything but manageable.
Yeah. The force exerted by a 120 mph gust is roughly 4 times that of a 60 mph gust. And a 60 mph gust is strong enough to do damage.

Thank you, though, I really appreciate it.
I have a stupid trig question -
If a tree is 18yrds from your house and the angle to the top (diagonal) is 22yrds, how tall is the tree?
I am an accountant and too exhausted to think about this.

Foxy was supposed to perform at Foxy's Harbor Grille in St Michaels Maryland on Tuesday and Wednesday. Obviously that isn't going to happen but i called and asked if they would turn it into a charity event for Jost Van Dyke. I'll post the info here if they do this and anyone would like to contribute.
