We're in a pretty nice area. I will still be locked and loaded, though.
Get some lipstick so you can write "Looter" on the chest of anybody that had to be kilt. Then find some high, running water and send them away.

Decision made. We are hunkering down in Tampa.
As long as bars have power I'll be good. In all seriousness best of luck Tampa peeps.

Just an FYI. Not a whole lot being talked about in the main stream news about the islands. They need help.

The only thing that needs to happen is to fly those people still left out ASAP. No food, no water, no electricity...no Bueno.
Or if they could drop them down some water or sammiches .
Sending ships to get them with Jose on the way is tough.
It's a real life Survivor episode down there right now.

I don't know if forgotten is the right word, the devastation is so large across so many areas, and with Harvey recovery still underway and the US prep for Irma makes things rough. There are only so many resources and other countries need to be stepping up if they aren't.

I'm sure they are panicked, but nobody has forgotten about them.

Im just passing along information. Trying to do something when I feel helpless. Family was on the island and still not heard of.
I know there are only so many resources but sharing information cant hurt.

Why aren't more people using back roads and highways to evacuate. According to my traffic app most of that appears open and moving. It's what I did the three times I evacuated S.E. LA. Saved many hours.
NE transplants aren't that adventurous. Everyone I know who is a native and left, got out like this.

Yea I saw that Kenny chesney is already starting a fund for the islands. I know he's unbelievably loaded but it's also like, hold on just a sec buddy let's wait and see what happens to our own country first.

St. Thomas and St John is our own country

So, Irma comes through... Jose drifts off toward Bermuda, another low forms and fades, and then you have one behind it that looks to take a very Irma-esque path. Awesome.
Good news is that far out it is hopefully wrong.
Well, hopefully right about jose, wrong about the latter

Sounds like the airport is damaged... might could get some supplies via helicopter from St. Croix though.
All the models have Jose curving N before the USVI... probably time to get a Navy relief vessel or two in there.

You do realize those islands ARE OUR COUNTRY. US Citizens.

Was just watching TWC and noticed a disturbing looking system down in the southwestern part of the GOM. Looks like the same place Harvey came from.
Do you know what is being said about that system?

I agree. But this isn't a random little shitty island like Barbuda. It's a US Territory. We have a lot going on, but I don't expect Britain or Canada to go rescue our people. It'd be nice, but it's our territory and they're our responsibility.

That's just unbelievably terrible. Those poor people.

A lot of those islands ARE our own country. St. Thomas, St. John, Puerto Rico, Vieques, Culebra... all US territory.
I would certainly hope that the UK, France, and Netherlands are doing their part to help out their territories.
