Ugh- new forecast very ugly- could bring 100+mph winds over the eastern half of the peninsula from Miami to Jacksonville. (Including me here in Orlando)

Just curious and maybe its been discussed, but does the NHC have an alternate location or do they have a fortress at FIU?

I want to say I heard they would stay in their bunker room they have at the NHC, I could be wrong though.

This was discussed on the weather channel last night. They are confident their HQ can sustain a direct Cat 5 hit, and they also have a crew in DC that can take over if necessary.

Their weather won't be pretty either. Just have to hope it doesn't shift more west.

If that shifts anymore west that would be a disaster for Miami, as it is right now it still would be a disaster for them.
