Another video from St. Martin about an hour ago. Not sure I would be laughing while recording
Not quite as bad as I thought. Maybe their room is not facing the worst of the storm. Looks like solid 80-90mph wind though. I wouldn't be laughing.

We have a conference that we'll be attending next June ... it's supposed to be in Savannah. I guess we'll see.

Wow. I thought the camera was down until that bent palm tree came into view. That looks really bad.

They really should have had the other set of curtains closed and no way am I by the window.
At least they still had electricity which to me is amazing ... that wind was awful.

The impression that is always given is that everything is flattened in a Cat 5
Sensationalized a bit. Mainly depends on if you're in that small area with the high end winds and the crazy gusts and what your structure is built with. Have some friends who had cbs homes with stucco and plaster and concrete tile roofs who received a direct hit from Andrew down here in sfla and only had fence and tree damage growing up. Houses down the street had roofs blown off and total devastation.

GMA just said the 4 most solid buildings on St Martin took a bad hit. (Govt. buildings.) She said they were destroyed.

i'm just going to take this opportunity to mention how irritating it is when someone refers to a Hurricane as "this thing". Just say the/this storm.

Okay I saw earlier in the thread Barbuda went dark. That was a bit morbid.

The Facebook page "Hudson Valley weather" has some cool charts posted. Shows the dramatic drop in air-pressure as the eye passed over Barboda.
I never got off of Photobucket so can't post pics of it.

Holy frick....... If I hear one more tv weatherman use the term "This is a marathon, not a sprint" I feel i will break shite!!!!!!
No shite fricktards!!!!!!! Damn I hate watching MSM during these events!! I get and know more about these storms from the OT then I ever get from the MSM!!! Only reason I even watch them is for the occasional live feeds that they may show. I need Jeff's periscope site, and the OT only!!!

RDS,
Does Irma moving 16mph have any concerns on missing the trough or coming too early?
