Yes, it's very plausible.

Looks like that ULL is getting farther into the southeast and pulling Irma up and eventually around the eastern edge.

Good. Let it head toward London.

923 mb central pressure, up a decent amount since last night. That's good news.

The videos coming out of St. Barth are terrible. Lots of flooding and damage.

Well unfortunately that ULL is what turns Irma into the Carolinas or Georgia. It will need more help getting it out to sea, but a decent amount of ensemble members think it could happen.

What is Jose doing there at the end? Is it going to loop back around and hit the US or is it going to be steered away by Irma?

I'm worried about what we see from Anguilla. They were on the northern edge and got absolutely slammed last night.

ETA - they're still getting slammed. Look at the island in the NE part of the eye.

Gov Scott was just on tv saying the gas trucks are coming.

I want to say that for Katrina gas trucks were positioned along the interstate during evacuations ... although I wonder how much time the truck/driver had to get to safety.

Birds feel the pressure from incoming hurricanes and GTF

Yes. Atlanta. I have no experience with hurricanes, island birds or birds in general. When a storm comes through here I assume they hunker down somehow. I just figured some storms seem impossible to get away from.

Appreciate the info

Does anyone make videos of what survived and is still standing? The impression that is always given is that everything is flattened in a Cat 5. Just saw some video from St. Martin on TWC and while there was flooding, most buildings seemed to still be standing at least.

Jose is no threat to the US for the foreseeable future. We also have tropical storm Katia in the Bay of Campeche, but she looks like she's heading south into Mexico eventually.

That's on White Bay which is about as sheltered as it gets on Jost Van Dyke. Foxy's Taboo is on the east side of the island and is completely exposed. It doesn't have a webcam.

University of Miami uses a bird, The Ibis, as it's mascot. I always thought this was dumb. I finally learned that the Ibis is the last thing to GTFO when a hurricane is coming.

If you see them leaving you know it's time.

Not sure, but most of these islands avoided sustained category 5 winds. I don't think people realize how confined the extreme winds truly are. Anguilla will be a better test once it's passed.
