SE quad won't have the strongest winds.

And it seems done with the eyewall cycles for now. There appears to be a huge eye that will be clearing out in the next few hours.

jesus, the last few pages of this thread has gone to shite. Mods should make it where only the like 5 posters who know shite can post without approval. Everyone else needs a glance over from a mod. Chicken might have to hire a couple more to keep up but he's got fat stacks so its fine.

So... those are not cat 4 winds. Wonder if it's going thru another EWRC- it seems to do those almost constantly.

Levi's post says he believed another EWRC was getting underway and he figured it would finish before it reached the Antilles

ETA: or I could be completely wrong as Duke pointed out

but I swear Levi said something about it going through another EWRC soon

Looks like the intense convection is trying to wrap all around the center now.

it can still move east of the US, it can go right over Florida, or he even said it can get into the Gulf.

Well no kidding.

When's the next model run

new NHC advisory at 10 PM central (an hour)

new GFS (00z) should start running around 11 PM CT

new Euro (00z) should start running around 12:45 AM CT

and the GFS & Euro should include all the data collected today

Are you even watching the path get closer and closer to crossing Hispaniola and Cuba? It's not pretty likely that it won't do that anymore. You're watching these crappy models keeping it north when they've been wrong the entire time so far on this storm. It would be great for the US if they did that.

For frick's sake we really need to clean up this thread. It has jumped the shark and the gut feelings people continue to post do absolutely no good.

GFS at 11.

Euro at 1245 ish.

These will be interesting as they'll have been fed all the data being gathered today.

The colors on the color sat images show cloud top temperatures. The blacks and dark reds are colder. A tropical cyclone is basically taking all that warm moist air off the ocean and cooling the shite out of it. The more it cools, the more heat energy it is taking in to convert to winds and a stronger storm.

More deep convection wrapping symmetrically tells you the storm is picking up strength and organizing.

Harvey came on shore @ 944mb right?

I could of sworn Jeff was getting 937mb, but he did say his meter was messing up.
