Yep. The last couple of loops look a lot better organized.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what is RI?

It stands for rapid intensification. Think it's like 35 mph increase in winds over 24 hours.

I was noting it looks like the storm has gotten much stronger this afternoon. Recon is in there now, so that will be confirmed shortly.

ETA: don't worry about stupid questions if you don't understand some shorthand like that. Ask and someone will answer

Made it to Orlando where my cruise is still embarking tomorrow out of Canaveral. To the Bahamas originally but who knows where we’ll end up. Also was supposed to return Monday at Canaveral. Me thinks that aint gonna happen. Maybe a free additional day on the boat. No telling what the drive will be like to atlanta from here as well. This next week is gonna be interesting. NCL says no change to the cruise though so it’s all a guess at this point. It’s open bar and I’ll have a life jacket so whatever it is, it be.
Stay safe all

Joe Bastardi is saying potential similar track to Storm of 1947, Betsy and Katrina. The problem is all the water that piles up trapped by toe of the boot. That would be 9 days out though. shite they couldn't get Barry right 2 hours before landfall.

Diamond Offshore is moving their rigs out of Pascagoula and taking them to Mexico. They’re saying a Grand Isle landfall.

Brotha I’m on Panama City now. Half this town is still a pile of debris and the other half just finished up with a new roof. Everybody here is already sweating

Anyone know why the pressure of this storm isn’t that low relative to wind speed?

997mb is more mid tier TS strength, not usually an 80 mph hurricane
My take is it's because the storm is small in diameter.....like an ice skater spins faster when he pulls his arms in rather than stretched out.

Dorian is most def a little shite.

Which means his Hurricane field will more than likely encompass a larger portion of the storm. Tightly wrapped and ready to frick.

Fun Fact: Hurricane Dorian passed through the same spot in 2013.
