Baws, I’ll be in town starting tomorrow house hunting. Let’s kick back some brews at Straight to Ale!

Where you lookin', baw?

I would HIGHLY advise purchasing in East Limestone or Athens - there is about to be some incredibly serious growth in the next decade or so. You'll get equity so fast your head will spin.

Mostly in Madison. I have a couple I’m eyeing in Athens, one in Gurley, and a couple in Hampton Cove.

Also a solid choice. Your commute won't be as bad as from Madison and certainly Athens/Limestone if you are working in the city.

I found a couple just north of there I liked. Monte Sano proper too rich for my blood.

I always laugh at people from Louisiana that keep moving around to shite towns in shite states. It’s like MS, LA, AL, or AR are the only options, and always the questions like:

How far out of town do I need to get to feel safe?

What are some good private schools?

The Huntsville metro is so superior to anything in LA that it isn't even funny.

Fatetteville, AR is widely regarded as one of the best places to live in the US.

Huntsville is also very nice

Is it cool? No. It is lacking in that regard, especially in comparison to Birmingham, Nashville, or Chattanooga.

Is it a great place to raise a family and make a good living? Absofrickinglutely.

For the latter, I ask you where in LA (or AL, for that matter) that offers better prospects for a young family.

I'd say overall Huntsville is far from overrated. Most people don't even know what/where Huntsville is when you get out of the South. I can name tons of reasons that Huntsville is one of the best cities in the south, and I can't do the same for a single city in Louisiana.

Truth.

Not the funnest city, but very clean, low crime, very good schools across the city, close enough to Nashville and Birmingham for bigger events. Very hilly. Tons of outdoor activities (hiking, water sports, fishing, etc.)

And growing very fast.

That highly depends on your career and other choices you have made. There are plenty of options for the same standard of living or better in AL and LA in comparison to Huntsville. Huntsville is decent, but saying it is superior to all of LA is overboard.
