Turns out he decided just to tear it all down so that a future president could rebuild it.

Well, it's hard to get too upset over this one. Atlanta has enough crap that looks like this already:

Seems like we could have a standalone thread for all the different ideas to revitalize Jazzland/Six Flags NOLA ever since Katrina came through

Baton Rouge loop.
This was always a damn stupid idea. 1-lane roads all over Baton Rouge and they wanted to build an interstate loop to alleviate traffic? How stupid are the planners?

monorail

Why would we build a mass-transit system in a small city with a centralized population?

Did they recycle those plans for Trump Tower Chicago or were the two always going to look the same?

When Mayor Ollie Tyler tried to persuade the Pelicans to put their G League in Shreveport with this 30M development. City council voted 6-0 against it

The Falls at Vineyard Mountain
Was going to be the worlds largest indoor ski resort in Bartow County Georgia. Proposed in 2010. Target opening date was 2012. Went nowhere.

There was if not the same exact project, one very similar (Indoor ski mountain) pitched in DFW, but same thing, went nowhere.

Sure as shite didn't because the city was on the hook for upfront cash investment and mountains of tax breaks, and the developers had no plan for filling out the commercial space or generating any revenue at all. They called everyone that was against it racist when the City Council voted it down, including the black mayor.

Not huge, but the golf course for L'Auberge Casino in Baton Rouge was promised but never came to fruition.

Instead they will make I-10 match those 1 lane roads for a year or 2. If it all goes through 1 lane it's got to go faster right ?
