a good idea to put his cigarette in the turtles mouth. The turtle bit his finger off and he had to be rushed to the hospital

Is he missing an eye???????
It's likely he's been dead for a while and the ants ate his eyeball out

Probably older. Guy I worked with said they usually gain a pound a year and that's how they determine the age of older turtles. Ours was 125# and was a little bigger than that one they caught

And on a related note, cars. Anyone seen one of these before? Apparently you put flammable liquid in it, and it just rolls around taking you from destination to destination.

I thought this was gonna be about the one Choirboy found in his thread over on the OB. I think his is alive and well though.

I caught one that was about 30 lbs near the Garden District when I was a kid. 15+ years ago. Now they occasionally dredge the canals and there are no large turtles in there anymore. Don't seem to be many big ones in the LSU lakes either.

the turtle ripped it in half and the top half tried swimming back to the surface.

I saw a snapping turtle in a water run off off the interstate around those hills between Alexandria and Shreveport last summer...It looked a little smaller than that one posted in the OP.
