HP has a rather large office in spring. Right next to the new HPE office.
They’ve been laying people off over the last three to four years anyways.

The layoffs are part of HP's cost-cutting initiative "Future Now," which the company introduced in November 2022, per The Wall Street Journal.

You mean these dipshit Trump supporting morons don't realize raising the price of inputs 30% is going to cost many of them jobs?!?!
I am shocked, I tell you! Shocked.
Oh yea, and it takes at least 12 - 18 months to get new Capex online to replace the production domestically, and by that time your overlords are going to be an anti-Trump Congress and Senate.

Oh yea, that’ll be just terrific. Take away an effective tax that’s in the low single digits to pay for a 20+% tariff. fricking brilliant.

My company just laid off an undisclosed number of people but on my team we lost 50% so I expect the number is in the hundreds if not a thousand plus

We're going to have to speed up the deportation's in order to make openings for the hundreds of thousands of underperforming "workers" in our government and industries. There will be some good buys on fishing boats, beachside cabins, fancy autos, motor homes, etc. etc.

tariffs not in place yet.....
Businesses have to plan, not react. The fact that they don't know if they these tariffs will actually go into effect this time is kind of a problem, eh?

While true, why would tariffs translate to layoffs? The tariffs more or less affect their entire industry in a relatively equal way- so why would they need a leaner workforce to continue to compete in the market with their peers?
