How'd life change when financially you no longer needed to work

I've recently downsized my lifestyle and no longer "need" to come to this particular job anymore. It's in my best interest to stay long term, but I could make it now working at the local hardware store if I wanted to.
For those who have achieved financial freedom and no longer "needed" to go to work, how did your personal and work life change for you?

I need income but I don’t have any debt. And I think that’s a more reasonable goal for most people than not having to work at all
And that was a 180 degree life changer for me

Do you include your mortgage as debt? That's a big question. If you do, most people will virtually never be out of debt.
If you don't, I've been out of debt for 10 years. I also am in the top 5% of earners nationwide. I also will still have to work until my mid-50s. Which for me will mean that I worked for 35 years or so.
So to me, not having debt hasn't really changed my life at all other than showing me I may be able to retire ... some day.
But my friends who are worth 20-30 million, it's very different and that's the point of the question. They work when they're bored, have four kids in the best schools, have three beautiful homes, and travel the world all the time.
So, that's the real meaning of "no longer needing to work" and it's not realistic for 95% of people, but more than likely, isn't realistic for 99% of people.

i am really curious as to the responses.
i only know what has happened in the lives of the people that I know. from what i have seen, very few of my friends have just retired and done nothing. the ones that have, have multiple habits. Golfing multiple times per week. traveling to see grandkids. ball games. hunting. fisheing.
the vast majority continue to work part time. not because of a need of money, just to have something to pass the time.

A buddy commented that surprisingly many men seem to die soon after they retire.
We both plan to work for as long as we enjoy it.

I lost my house and starved to death. Couldn't get free everything from the government... Reasons were white washed...

Employer paid major medical. That's not an expense I want to tackle on the Obamacare exchange or individual market if I don't have to, which is why I take my happy arse to work every day and tough it out.

Sorry baw, but if you are really in the top 5% of earners, you shouldn't be questioning whether or not you "may" be able to retire if you are really debt free minus your home.
That must mean you have absurd expense levels and/or you purchased a mansion.

Unless I win the powerball, that’s not happening
I like to have fun, that cost money. I don’t hate work enough to sacrifice doing fun shite so I don’t have to do it.

Biggest thing I see, must have a hobby.
Travel, raise deer, hunt, visit wine regions, golf around the world, manage your charitable foundation that funds church buildings , some tiny side hustle that doesn’t really make any money but breaks even and you sort of enjoy It , IDK…just better have something that keeps you busy.

I've discussed my goals here and have asked questions about the process each time I complete a step.
