To keep an alumni email, is not high up on the priority food chain.
So I think alumni cropped up because LSU realized they couldn't manage the LSU account forever.

There is no such thing as a free service, especially one with hundreds of thousands of mailboxes. The "account security" is part of the platform, and not free.

I really don't know that's just what I was told by their office. More importantly I am definitely not an IT person so I'm sure you're right.

Still annoyed that LSU got rid of my old PAWS Telnet email, bayoutiger@tiger.lsu.edu, that my Prodigy compadres would use to contact me in DOS
