Have the balls to go to your boss and tell him face to face!

Post-It with "Bye Felicia" is more than sufficient.

I worked with a Felicia once. She didn't come back from lunch on her last day. Presumably to avoid the obvious jokes.

Change “regret” to “would like”, or “I am writing to inform you”.
Do it, but no regrets! YOLO

Shitty blackout. Can see a good deal of his signature. Job titles all listed. He worked for a railroad company. It looks like CBL maybe? Someone familiar could figure it out

This happened to me:

I get called to the boss' office (owner of company) on a Friday afternoon, early December of 2018. "Hey we are going to have to let you go" (effective immediately). My work performance was not A+ according to her.

I obviously worried the entire weekend.

Monday comes and she calls me over the phone. Hey we had a bad decision on Friday and we have decided to retain you in the office. Sorry for this whole inconvenience.

I go back to work with the worst feeling of job security.

Fast forward 2 and a half years and I finally land a great job literally across the street. Better pay and great benefits.

I met with her to announce my 2 week notice. She looked disappointed probably thinking production could slow down a bit. Next day she calls me and tells me she does not want me to leave. I said match my offer including 401K. She told me that she doesn't do 401K. Well then, my decision has been made.

It was fun telling her that and goodbye.

I write this b/c small business corporate America can be very selfish (obviously same for large corporations).

For my personal situation (29 years with same company):

No one on staff has the knowledge of what I do to train my replacement. When I quit/retire, it's no big deal to me if they decline my offer.

Clearly written by a Millennial. Boomers know atherosclerosis is freedom fibrosis.

Seems long winded and unnecessary. “I’m dragging up, get my money “ works just fine.
