It does. From my few years in Texas, Rice does seem a cut above the rest.

Besides the weird stigma of A&M, I think them and UT are equal overall

My son goes to UTD
They have 17,000 undergrad and 10,000 of them are in the School of Business. If we are ranking just B Schools they are top ten, anything else they are out of the Top Twenty

Really have to rank these based on a specific program.

For business, UT is the clear top in the state followed by Rice, SMU, and UTD.
