Short term -
1.) More jails and crack down on crime. Back the blue and increase officer pay.
2.) Tort reform across the board to attract business and reduce insurance costs.
3.) Increase teachers pay and stop pretending every school is college preparatory. Entrance exams to high schools and place lower performing kids in trade schools or a 2 year transition school and high scoring kids in college prep if they choose.
4.) Eliminate homestead exemption so all the homes in North BR actually pay for services they receive.

Long Term -
1.) Incentivize developers to buy blighted properties and restore our downtown / North BR commercial areas. Provide tax paid city services to tear down old buildings at no cost to owners.
2.) Loop around livingston, BR, and iberville.
3.) Widen I-10 at bridge, and add service roads to enter shopping centers along the interstate rather than putting traffic on college, Essen, bluebonnet, Siegen, etc.
4.) High speed rail from airport to downtown and LSU, southern, and our zoo. A lot of which can be done by demoing the bumpy af I-110 and use the existing row. Also demo all the blighted properties that boarder it so its not a terrible eye sore and all the people using it wont see how big of a shithole BR is in that area.

The biggest knocks on BR are safety, insurance costs, transportation, and education. This would provide BR with much safer streets, more skilled workers, and open areas up for development/business etc., and even attract tourists.

Take anybody caught committing a violent felony down to the lakes and hold them underwater until they don't bubble anymore.

Also, any judge that let's these violent orcs out can house them with their families.

Rescind Judge Parker’s outdated Deseg order, stop the forced bussing, and re-establish neighborhood schools. Gut the corruption out of the EBR School Board, and begin arresting LAE Union members facilitating the BS. Give truancy violators disciplinary action that has real teeth, including but not limited to LTI and military boot camps for repeat violators. Put ACTIVE Law Enforcement officers INSIDE the schools, and hold both parents and students accountable for behavior.

It’s really not that hard, but everyone’s scared of being labeled a ‘Racist’ for attempting to fix the problem.

Start with replacing the mayor, city council, police chief and lazy judges.

At one time Jackson, MS had a Ferrari dealership if you can believe that.

* Better Leaders (good luck)
* Litter Clean-Up initiative
* Strict new business code and Grandfather in older ones.
* Never should have allowed "bussing", public school improvement will be tough.
* Find another option to CATS

Saturday game day in Baton Rouge there is no where I’d rather be tail gating and going to the game. Obviously I wish there were less crime day to day but that crime is in very specific areas which has been like that for 40+ years. I don’t feel unsafe in Baton Rouge but to each their own. I was born and raised in BR and have no issues being there

Pshh. The OT don't wanna hear none of that. It may crack their fragile perception of the perfect life they've achieved elsewhere.

I'd improve Baton Rouge with the usual loop/bridge/etc stuff.

Big ole incentives for companies to build/expand here

And trying 15+ yr olds as adults for murder.
