How would the lockdown and restrictions have been received right after WW2?

All those soldiers returning to the States after fighting a terrible war and seeing friends killed to protect our freedom not only for the USA but for Europe.
Would they accept having some of their rights taken away and loss of income because of a, IMO, mild pandemic.
It’s a different time now but I couldn’t see that generation just accepting some of the restrictions placed and some of their rights taken from them like some places have been doing.
Example:
-Jackson mayor trying to ban open carry during the pandemic.
-Cantrell wanting time know the names of everyone who goes into stores.
Just something I was thinking about out of boredom.
I’m really asking what y’all think because I don’t know. It may be a stupid question but I do wonder what would have happened.
I know the Spanish Flu wiped out a lot of soldiers in one of the World Wars.

You know there was rationing during WW2, and soldiers came home from the war almost every day during it, right?

Ask the WW1 vets how they received quarantines and lockdowns and mandatory masks when they got back?

You mean like the large scale rationing and black outs and literal detention camps that took place?

That why I’m asking. I should study that war more because it is fascinating from my small amount of knowledge.
I understand it’s probably a stupid question but I really am interested in the mind set of those that served in those wars.

The American public was asked to make all kinds of sacrifices during WW2, and I’ve never read or heard about any complaining over it. I’d imagine the soldiers returning home were just ecstatic to be home and understood sacrifices needed to be made to win the war.

I actual did know about the rationing and the blackouts. It was a huge war that took a lot of resources. I’m not familiar with detention camps here except for the Japanese-Americans.
I can’t speak for them because I never served and I wasn’t around back then but I hear all the time people saying that generation would’ve not taken the restrictions lightly during a peacetime period for the country
During a massive war is a different t scenario.

Fun fact, there was still rationing in the U.K. after WWII until July 4th, 1954.

That doesn’t surprise me. I’m amazed that the UK made it through the war without their economy collapsing. Yeah they got help from the US but they were pretty much all alone for awhile against the Nazi war machine and were able to hold them off long enough to get major support.
I’m watching some videos about that War and was surprised to see that the French weren't the weak country that surrenders easily. They fought against overwhelming odds with a terrible decision to think the war would be fought like WWI.
Even after the Germans broke through the lines, they kept fighting.

That is right vermin.
The people in 1918 fought the worst war in history to that point while dealing with a pandemic at least an order of magnitude worse than this one without destroying the economy and with no dancing hero videos.
