Wouldn't the first thing, if you couldn't get to land, be to try to get to the very middle of the river? It seems like the middle would be where the most current is which would also be where the most erosion occurs/location of the biggest pool at the bottom.

What face mask would you wear down the waterfall?

I just keep my waterfall barrel prepped and ready to go at all times.

After you run out of air trying to reach the surface again your dead body won't care where the currents take you.

That helps to guard against any abrasions you may receive, but can also make swimming out from underneath the falls more difficult. I prefer to take my chances with the abrasions and wear something like this instead:

Thanks. This is good information for the next time NOLA streets flood.

It’s also not realistic. Three of the four times I’ve fallen off a waterfall I was naked so that technique would have been a disaster

Just think of Jennifer Aniston, you'll be OK.

No kidding. Plus it gives no instruction about what to do with a huge load of crap in your pants.

Why would you be wearing pants?

Not sure. Just following the illustration in the OP...Mr Beasley. If that's even your real name!

My first thought. Make your body ridgid so you die more quickly when you crash into the rocks below.
