Craigslist seems shady for car selling, no?

Best price is probably going to be on a trade in, if you're buying something new.

I've had an easier time selling cars on craigslist than I have selling old iphones on there. The guy who bought my old truck negotiated the whole thing via text message.

Take it to the state fair and charge to let people hit it with a sledgehammer

ive sold 3-4 cars on Craigslist. Never had a problem. I meet them at a public place and never my home.

CL is legit. Autotrader and fleabay are, too. If priced right, it should sell in under a week.

How I picture "nerd guy" (as Kip).

No wonder you might be ascared of strangers.

If you do the craigslist thing, make the transaction happen at a Fire Station or in front of a Police Station.

Why's that? Just meet them in a public place and if they ask you to go play with their kid's train set and jerk off, then make sure you score some crabmeat while you're there.

I sold my Jeep in CL easily. Guy came to my house with a deposit and a check, came and picked it up when the check cleared.

I moved out two days later so I wasn't worried about him knowing where I lived.

Question:

For older cars that people don't use, how often are you supposed to crank it and let it run?

Once a month? I know letting it sit there without cranking for a long time is not good.

LOL

I actually think this might work. If you have a beater civic from 1994 that barely runs or doesn't run, you could make more doing this than selling it.

Then you could sell the scrap metal. I'd definitely pay $20 to hit a car 3 times with a sledge hammer. Its a ton of fun.

What do you do about title transfer, plate, registration, etc?

Do you have them meet you at one of those services? I know where one is in Pville and one in BR?

Pretty damn accurate I sold my kayak on craigslist and did the transaction in a bank parking lot (plenty of cameras I'd assume). Seems like a car would bring out more douchebags, especially selling a 1995 mustang gt.

To who said trade in, I thought about that too. But will a dealer take a 1995 car?

And this was a big concern.

You may want to consider adding a tow bar to the vehicle. That really helps in adding value.
