To who said trade in, I thought about that too. But will a dealer take a 1995 car?

They'll take anything for the right price

I traded a 98 4Runner this last week, and it was in pretty shitty condition

I figured that I'd get the best price trading it in, because the dealership is typically trying to kiss your arse because they want a sale.

Like someone else had mentioned, I'm more concerned about the title and registration by selling is on CL. I wanted to do the trade in, but on a dealer website under their "check trade in value" area it only went down to 2006.

I bought a Jeep from some guy on craigslist and he actually met me at his home. I went back over there three days later to rob him but everything was already gone.

How much you want for it and what kind of car? What's the problems wrong with it? I need a beater for when I move to St. Louis next month. The winters up there suck!

Have buyer pay for the notary ($30-40 and takes about 5 minutes max).

And this was a big concern.

Well I can tell you this much. People may do it themselves but all you need to do is have them meet you at one of these places(notary or auto title service), prepared to do the transfer and all that day. It costs about $150 at most for title transfer and sale and registration(that's with the actual fees you can't avoid. as a seller you won't have this much cost) but if either party agrees to pay or split it, it's well worth the hassle. It'll clear you of any liability on the vehicle and makes it easy for the buyer(if you're buying a car on CL) to get all your shite handled without the DMV.
Most notaries offer this service. Just call and make appt when it's good for your seller to meet you.

That is what a notary is for. It's not like you just meet in a parking lot and exchange cash for the car. You go to a notary and do take care of that stuff.

I myself, and several friends, bought and sold cars on craigslist. It is the easiest way.

I sold a GMC Acadia to a Hispanic guy off of Craigslist with no issues.

We met at my bank branch, had the notary at the bank do her deal with the title and bill of sale, he handed me the cash and I deposited it.

No issues at all. Go to your bank and ask if they are willing to help you with this.

Also of your not comfortable with this then Carmax and Texas Auto Direct will buy almost anything but they won't offer you much at all. You will make more if you find a notary and do the deal yourself.

Its easy to sell on Craigslist and totally or you could post the info in the thread and maybe someone will buy it, I sold a car on here by doing that . Auto Trader also has worked out for me a lot in the last but I haven't used it in probably 10 years. As other people said if it is a junky car you also could just wait until a dealership doing some kind of trade in special and buy new.
