This past weekend was the best of my life. Garth Brooks played in Tiger Stadium and sang a song I know a few of y’all are familiar with. It’s tough on this Monday getting back into the swing of things. I can’t tell if it’s the lingering Michelobs or what but I’m having a hard time finding something new to motivate me.

I remember the best weekend of my life. Around 1989, I went to a concert to the right of the old pool at the Village Country Club in Dallas.

Met a couple of hot young ladies that invited me to a party that night. It was a quiet affair at someone's apartment. One of the two ladies I went there with wanted to "take a walk". We went out to the pool area and made out on a chase lounge until the other girl came down and said it was time to go home. My girl had just told me she was going to take me home with her, so I was ready.

We ended up going to my place. The highlight for me was another girl, with no connection to the new girls, coming over while we were in the shower. I guess I wasn't worried about locking the door as we came in, because a neighbor came in. The neighbor heard the shower running, sneaked into the bathroom, filled a glass with cold water and threw it on us in the shower. She thought it was really funny to do that to me. She got real embarrassed when she realized I wasn't alone.

This was on Sunday of a Labor day weekend, so we had two days together when we met. We dated for a couple of years straight, then had an on-again, off-again relationship for probably 15 years. The last time I talked to her we'd planned to go to the State Fair of Texas on a Sunday morning. When she called me that morning, I was still sleeping, and asked if we could go an hour or two later. The last thing she said to me was, "Now I remember why I broke up with you!", and hung up.

What the hell is up with this weird arse Garth Brooks shite on the OT? His concerts seem to bring out all the serial killers on the board, like some children of the corn type shite.

Well he is a Tulane fan so there are no football championships to fondly remember.

Going to a Garth Brooks concert and considering it the pinnacle of someone's life is pathetic.

Look I didn’t go to a really cool, fun school like the one you’re a fan (assuming you’re not a graduate). Some people have awesome football programs AND Garth Brooks. At least allow me to borrow one of them

If y’all didn’t have fun or go to the concert you’re pretty damn lame

I’d say it’s the best concert I’ve seen

Happiness is a choice. Enjoy it or surround yourself in a puddle of shite, piss, and misery

While not nearly as cut and dried as you make it sound, you’re not wrong. Find something to be happy about or you’ll be left feeling empty and ungrateful.

I get to work this morning, not I have have to work this morning. Those kind of thought patterns do make a huge difference.
