Clearly the reason the check didn't clear is your wife has drained your bank account and is about to run off with Jody.

Get what you can now.

If you still have a Shell credit card and pay the bill with checks, they probably think y’all in your 70’s and trying to sell you on some BS emergency roadside assistance.

And pay your bills next time. You won’t get a call.

Do they not have online billpay in Georgia?

And if you’ve really been a customer for that long, they aren’t really worried about you going anywhere.

Easier to just mail in a check than to fire up Prodigy/AOL from his landline.

This is the strange part. I have never carried over a balance. I have paid in full every month.

Why all of a sudden, do I get a phone call pressuring me to pay this bill?

This is strange. You would think that Shell would prefer people not to pay their bill on time, so they could gouge you with interest.

Anyways, I guess I will just have to use my BP card, which I rarely use due to them fricking up the Gulf.

I'm picturing this call taking place on a phone attached to the kitchen wall with a really long tangled up cord.

Did you have to put gas in the dinosaurs you old bastard?
You kids these days. SMH

We used to squeeze the gasoline right out of the pores on the dinosaurs leathery skin. At least now you know what those huge old tin buckets were used for.

I’ve never heard of a credit card calling over a bill, especially one month late. They feast on that due to the interest.

Shell's gas is always overpriced in my area. The same Shell station has been in the same spot for at least 15 years and I do not understand how they stay in business. It's in a shitty location, the gas is always 20-40 cents higher than the Exxon across the street. I've been to it maybe twice and it was filthy both times.

Always wonder why people still have gas cards. There are other ways to save on a gallon of gas.

Probably 20-25 years ago now, I had a gas card rejected at the pump. Pump said to see the cashier. Oblivious, I go in to see what’s up, the cashier calls the company, and hands me the phone. I’m still oblivious, wondering what the hell. Dude on the phone wants to confirm my address, because their last statement was returned. Told him we haven’t moved, can’t speak for the postal service. He confirms my address again, and says “okay, thanks.”

I said no, not okay. I pay my bills, and always have.
You send me that bill, and it will be paid, and the you can take your card and shove it up your arse! I handed the phone back to the lady behind the counter, who smiled and said ”I’ve been waiting for someone to do that.”
