I know someone this happened to but continue to laugh thinking it's impossible. Some very good lawyers live for slam dunks like that.
So what about police and other people on the exception list? Do they receive special training to drive with dark windows? I'm going to guess they do not.

What I'm laughing at is you thinking someone can't see beaming headlights through tinted windows at night.
Dark tint does impair your vision to some degree even with headlights shining. You also act like everyone actually keeps their headlights and blinkers bulbs changed. I always go the legal limit and even that can bother me at night sometimes so I don't see the need to go much darker.
I was just stating that it has happened is all. It's not worth it to have anything past the legal limit IMO. The risks far outweigh the rewards.

They're police though, they can also play on their laptop and drive as well even though that's distracted driving.
Also, I've gotten several speeding tickets with tinted windows, and they've never said anything about tint. Hell, I didn't even have an inspection sticker last time and they didn't say anything about it

Why you just walk right in set right down
and buy a pair of Maui Jims
they are guaranteed to work in ANY vehicle...

I hope he's got an exemption for wearing those Transitions lenses indoors.

Not sure what people that get exemptions with a license have to do with my point of someone lying about a medical condition. How do you not see the difference?
Do I think the others should be allowed an exemption? Maybe and maybe nor but that's not the point yet you keep harping on it. The point is skirting the law and lying about having a medical condition is potentially a huge risk.

A car I bought while at LSU had 5% on every window except the front. I had to roll-down the damn window to makes turns many times, and I have better than 20/20 vision. I eventually got a tint ticket on campus. Removing the tint didn't bother me as much as the ticket hitting my wallet.

I have the exemption, I've had it since 2009 but recently they made it extremely difficult to get. Unless you have a major eye problem your doctor can now get in serious trouble for doing the paperwork for you. I was lucky and got sortve grandfathered in
Edit: just so you know the exemption is almost $400 when it's all said and done. Your ticket is probably not more than $150 so it's not worth it unless you have a true medical condition

Have a neurologist that filled out the paperwork for me. I have blepharospasms caused by light sensitivity.
Did some research on going through with it and it don't look like it's gonna be cheap to jump through all the hoops.

I was on the highway and slowed down for a tinted out Police Interceptor that was coming up behind me at about 100mph - he had the bull bar, spot light, and antennas. When he passed I read his license plate "Louisiana State Senator..."

A little nugget from our phone call before the attorney shut it down. I was explaining that I needed the tint because my job requires me to transport sensitive items that would be subject to theft and I was forced at times to leave them in my car (i.e. stopping for lunch while travelling). The gracious Captain stated that tinted windows make it MORE LIKELY for your car to get burglarized because "criminals want to see what is inside." After that statement, I asked for a statistic or reference to this fact and the attorney said: "You are on your own with that Captain, I am not going to try to defend that statement." That was pretty damn funny.

So many perks besides the obvious monetary gains for you, your family, and your friends

How to get Prescription for tinted windows?
That's stupid. Poke your eyes out and have someone drive you to an ophthalmologist so he can write the script for fricking unsafe dark tints.

Especially when you throw in the karma factor. Go ahead a lie about a medical condition and report back in - let's say 10 years.

Or you’ve been in two crashes because you have migraines and light screws with my eyes and head and I still don’t have tinted windows. I’m getting a real Rx for tinted windows so I can actually see.

Either pay the ticket and get it removed or continue to risk another ticket. It’s part of the risk you took when you illegally tinted your vehicle
