Manufactured crisis. Our poor have never had it so good.

I wish they would write articles like this and point out how in many cases these people are trying to live above their means and waste a ton of money in stupid crap

If youre living paycheck to paycheck, there is a simple solution:

Stop spending so much money.

- move to a cheaper area
- stop eating out
- stop going on expensive vacations
- get a used car, not a new one
- make your own coffee
- cut the cable

It’s easy to do, just have to stop trying to act like you’re richer than you are.

The point of this article is not to report facts or to educate the reader about the nature of reality, but instead is to propagate a political narrative that middle class whites (the people who built this country and the modern world) are evil and must be made to suffer.

It's definitely a political hit piece designed to tug on the heartstrings of people who have never really met a poor person.

I remember when struggling meant driving old broken down clunkers that sometimes would start and other times wouldn’t, and malnourished people living in a broke down trailer or house. That seriously doesn’t look very bad living.

And who would probably have a heart attack if they ever did.

They don't give a damn about the poor. Politics, politics, politics, with someone else paying.

I work in a manufacturing facility and can tell you that the guys that work for me struggle to make ends meet. Because of the market we are in, we can only pay so much. My guys come to work everyday and do their jobs the best they can and they still struggle. I'm not sure how some of them make it on what they get paid.
Alot of it comes down to them not being educated enough in finances and just don't know any better. Alot of what they think is the norm is not necessarily the norm. We do work with alot of our guys and try to help them see things in a different way, but the culture has been set in place for a while.

Someone should teach her a bell curve so she can understand (she won't, because "whitey") that there will always be people "failing".

Just once I'd like to see the same craft and care put into an article with 30 people that have no problem paying their bills.

We do this bc our health insurance and day care is so fricking expensive. That’s about $3k a month alone. Thanks, Obama!

A common factor in these stories is people having kids they cannot afford.
