All that fat bearded prick ever brought me was coal anyway.

If anyone here is like my old man, it’ll be lit the first time the high is below 80.

Light a fireplace?! I open the damned windows. Apparently, the neighbors turn their heaters to 90. My AC runs throughout the winter.

Fired up the fire pit Sat. night here in Mo. it was perfect sweatshirt & shorts weather once the sun went down. Next week it’s supposed to be daytime highs in the 60’s & nighttime low’s in the low-mid 40’s once this cold front pulls through over Labor Day weekend. Can’t wait!

They really are great. I love a true wood burning fire but gas logs make it too easy. Evening getting late but you still want a nice fire for 30-40 min. No problem.

What happened to houses having real wood burning fire places. The house I lived in as kid had one and it was a monster. Nowadays you don’t see many.

The same thing that happened to quality construction and craftsmanship - fine masons got replaced by cheap labor and cheap materials, like ventless inserts.

Also, people like convenience.

Gotta be below around 45 for me to fire it up. Ours puts out a ton of heat and will run you out of the living room.

Once it gets cool enough to where I can open the windows to keep the house from getting too hot. I love using our fireplace.

As soon as it hits 59 at night
gets down to the 50s nearly every night here, in no way shape or form does that mean it’s time to warm the house.

Friends have one. It's pretty cool, but pretty small. More than 3 or 4 people around it makes it seem even smaller. They bought it to keep in their camper, but use it in their backyard a lot.

I won't typically light ours unless it's in the 30s.

Whenever it is cold enough for my heat to be turned on. My fireplace warms the house and really takes the strain off the central heating system.
