If you need a vehicle
..shop online and compare prices...nobody knows what the future holds or what's going to be available in the preowned vehicle market except there will be more competition for used cars in the auctions where the dealers get their inventory and they have to pay to get prime inventory.... as they have a lull in new car inventories due to shut downs and model year change overs...find the car you want ..in stock..good choices..values..get a fair price and buy it!

am telling you this from personal experience. Those rentals are so badly ragged on the road the 3 year old is basically a 12 year old.

My wife worked at an Enterprise in college and said those cars get rode hard and worn out like a dirty whore

I think there will be a lot of people with cash to grab up the high demand vehicles like trucks or mustangs. Who knows you might get lucky.

When I rented my trucks for my hardware store and family farm a used truck dealer came in buying up all my leases right before I had to turn them in.

Not sure about truck market - but Hertz BK will suppress the used car market.

They dumped their special edition Z06s recently.

I'd guess that most car rental companies have more rigorous maintenance schedules than the average consumer. You'd probably be fine buying an old Hertz vehicle.

You’re right. I redline Enterprise’s fleet, exclusively.

What is it with people not getting this spelling correctly? I see it all the time online. Is it our education system at work?

I just don’t proofread message board posts because I don’t care that much. Similar to text messages. I do, however, know the difference between sell, sale and sail. I do not care enough about opinions of people that have to call out others for mistakes on a message board to check or correct my grammar, though. In my opinion people like that are too high strung or care just a little too much about message board grammar.

Since they filed Chapter 11 you should start seeing some good deals in 5-7 years

Ding ding, they will unload some cars at unprofitable locations. Probably unload some cars that don't rent well or are just not profitable to maintain. Otherwise they need to keep the majority of the fleet to operate their business.

You say 'dirty whore' like it's a bad thing. Both are a matter of finding the sweet spot. Dirty and experienced, but not worn out and still of good value. They're out there, you just have to find the value.

I used to work for hertz. STAY THE HELL AWAY. These cars are driven super hard (hell id 0-60 test all of em myself just because i could). non synthetic Oil changes were done every 7500 miles. Tires were only changed when the airpumps couldnt keep the tires inflated for more than 3-4 days. Couldnt tell you how many times id over inflate tires for a day or two rentals hoping the tire light wouldnt come on. When it did come on in the winter time we would tell the customer the cold weather messes up the gauges. Long story short STAY AWAY.
