Also, how long should you wait before introducing someone else to your kids? I was thinking a year or so would be appropriate. What says the OT?

You hadn't started before the divorce? You're late

You can date someone without introducing them to your kids at the same time.

if by dating you mean banging 22 year olds then 3 days

if you mean serious relationships then 30 years

I'd guess they're going to be freaked out about you coming out of the closet.

If you loved your kids so much you shouldn't have gotten divorced

Best bet is to find a chick that has kids as well. Instant family relationships with an individual that has no kids, don't normally progress very well.

I'm trying to keep the "hate" factor down to a minimum. That's why I'm asking. We do have kids together, and I would like to remain civil for them.

Just make sure that you have some of your ex's old clothes laying around. Have your new girl meet them wearing those clothes and just say it's their new mommy. Kids' brains are small, it should work and you won't have to explain shite.
