If the teacher was requiring the students to refer to each other and other adults with those pronouns, I would have an issue. But just for Mx, that's fine, whatever
They, them, their, etc, though have traditionally been plural. So that's strange.

So 5th grade transformer math and science teacher can't even do 5th grade level English? I would send a note back requesting that it stick to it's own subject and until it picks a pronoun that correctly describes it, it can frick off and not try to teach my child improper use of the English language.
