Dying young is so unfair.
She's a wonderful woman.

Man that's just heartbreaking, but I'm glad there are people like her who can provide that love, even if it's all too brief.

Indeed it does. I can't imagine what she goes through, getting attached to a baby knowing that they're not going to live but for a short while. That's one incredible lady.
I can't stop thinking about this special lady.

I've concluded I'm not strong enough to do what she does. And I'm ashamed....

Great woman, just...how much does she get in compensation?

quote:

Understanding the
Uniform Foster Care Rate

Because the rate is based on the needs of each child, it may also include extra payments

The Basic Maintenance Rate provided for a child of any age by a foster home that is certified to provide level one care is:

Level One $232 Jan. 2016

Is there an additional payment for children who have special needs?

Yes, for a foster home that is certified to provide care at a level of care that is higher than Level One care. If your foster child has emotional, behavioral, or medical needs, you may request an additional monthly payment to cover the costs of caring for the child's special needs. When approved, this payment is called a SUPPLEMENTAL RATE..

What if a child needs constant care or supervision?

If a child has extraordinary needs, you may receive an additional payment called an Exceptional Rate. This payment may be provided if the child's placement in your home allows the child to be released from a more restrictive setting or prevents the child's placement in such a setting. Only providers certified above a Level One can receive exceptional rates

What if a child needs constant care or supervision?
No monthly payment for the combined Basic Maintenance, Supplemental and Exceptional Rates may exceed $2,000.00

So let's just "try" to calculate what she gets financially for having a revolving door of short-term kids.

quote:

provided an INITIAL CLOTHING ALLLOWANCE :

it is your foster child's first placement
Clothing Allowance

Age Group

Clothing Allowance
0 - 4 Up to $225.00

so $225 up front, and $2k per month....each

she takes on 2-3 unwanteds.....not a bad living for a stay at home nurse

Do you honestly think this has anything to do with money? Would you bring a dying child into your home to be a part of your family, knowing you, your spouse, and your kids will all grow to love this child and thus feel the unimaginable pain of their dying all for $2,000 per month? Think about that for a moment.

An amazing woman for sure. The thought of an illness like that taking my son from me almost sends me into a panic. Not sure I could handle it.

Then, about five years ago, my own health hit a crisis point. I was battling several autoimmune diseases, and required several surgeries to attempt to repair the damage done to my digestive organs. I was suffering, bedridden, unable to work, and again found myself crying out to God, asking, "Well, how in the world are you going to redeem this one?"

But in August of 2012, we received a call asking if we would be willing to take in a two-week-old baby girl who was nameless and had no one to care for her.

looking for an answer, and she found one...fell in her lap vs actively sought "out of sheer selflessness"

dude, fwiw, she's a great lady. She's helping kids that others wrote off. That in itself is noble, and not a job many would want.

But what I'm attacking here is the propaganda that puts her on some pedestal and makes others feel like they are nothing comparatively.

In this discussion, we had some Russia LSU guy say "And I'm ashamed...' because his life is somehow insignificant because he's not able to do what she does, and RogerScrubber think that "I'm too soft for that" as if he is a lesser person.

we need to present the whole truth, versus giving people an unrealistic view of reality to compare themselves by.....or should I stand next to airbrushed models, tear jerker sensationalism, and fake epic stories of success when I measure my dick?

No one was looking for an in depth analysis of this ladies financial benefit for caring of dying babies. I don't care what she "makes" financially because it isn't enough. How much of that money does she earn goes back into comforting dying babies? You didn't post that tidbit. You could have just posted the following and moved on
