the frick does that mean?
where are these children's parents?
One of my kids spent 5 weeks in the NICU. It is one of the most depressing places in the world. There are plenty of women who take care of themselves/babies and people who want to raise their children, but you also see/hear some of the worst shite you can possibly imagine. Babies crying 23 out of 24 hours a day due to drug withdrawals from their time in the womb. Babies whose "mothers" leave with falsified contact information and never come back.
One of the ladies who worked the desk in the NICU - an administrative position, not a nurse - told us that in her first month on the job she was asked to clean an incubator after an infant had recently passed and ended up crying herself to sleep that night. Most of the nurses that spent any significant time in the NICU were very rough around the edges, so to speak, and I don't blame them. They only way you can keep coming back is if you're just desensitized to that kind of thing. It definitely has a serious effect on how you approach your day.

I don't know if that's true in general but you certainly fit the bill.

follow the money
Hey a-hole you do realize she has to pay for the care of those babies with that money.
These are really sick babies, on lots of medications. They likely have trachs to help them breathe and feeding tubes in their stomachs that they receive feedings from. Equipment, supplies, medications, the special formula for feedings, etc....all cost money.
I promise you that women didn't wake up and think "you know an easy way I can make some cash?! Take home dying babies!!"
It's not like she has 2k to just use for a shopping spree for herself.

Exactly. He's either a complete idiot or just a stupid kid trying to look "hard". He probably thinks this lady is living like a queen on $2,000 a month.

you are 100% that all care comes directly out of pocket?

What about medical insurance for foster children?
Foster children are eligible for Medicaid cards which cover medical, dental and counseling services.

Medicaid doesn't always cover 100% of medical expenses though. You also have to remember those babies need 24/7 care and monitoring.
Also...those babies only live like 2 months...they could likely die before a lot of the Medicaid paperwork can even be fully processed.

You couldn't pay most parents twice as much as she's receiving in benefits to do what she does. Not because we're awful people. Because she's that good.
I have to say though, nice troll kid.
