I was 7 playing tee ball, we lost our last game 0-7. I remember riding home in my dad's truck with a giant gold trophy in my hand, shite eating grin on my face.

My dad says "I don't know what you're smiling about, you're a god damned loser"

I looked up and said "that's not what my hard wear says bitch"

He picked his hand up to backhand me but realized it was futile. My entitled lazy ways were set in stone for the rest of my life, and he knew it. We rode off into the sunset, golden trophy reflecting a generation that would never have to work hard again.

When I was 5 I was playing at a McDonald’s and some kid was having a birthday. I just walked over and started munching on free nugz n fries.

This was in the late 70's. Participation trophies aren't some new millenial thing like boomers and some gen x'ers claim.

I write conservative fan fiction that teach traditional values. If you don't like them than buzz off soy boy

5 years old (a long time ago) my tball team came in 6th out of 6 teams.
The trophy was the smallest and said 6th place.
Technically was a participation trophy but that last place finish always irritated me.

Like 3rd or 4th grade.

Was the last day of school and there were events and fun activities for kids like sprint races.

I was one of the only white kids so I got honorable mention a few times.

4th place out of the whole grade isnt bad though.

7. And when I got to be 10 I realized those trophies and ribbons were bullshite. Kids know they are and actually feel cheated

Never did. I grew up in the 80s and early 90s. Back before participation trophies were even invented.
