Take away the miracles and promise of eternal life and no one gives a frick about what wisdom Jesus had to share.
That's not true. The wisdom he taught is edifying to any society willing to follow.

Did Rib-Woman?
Presumably not, although in the catagory of “what else the Bible gets wrong”, men and women both have 12 pair of ribs.
quote:
The vast majority of people are born with 12 pairs of ribs, for a total of 24, no matter their sex. The exception to this anatomy rule are people born with specific genetic anomalies. These can take the form of too many ribs (supernumerary ribs) or too few (agenesis of ribs).

Those are pig ribs, like Jake88’s wife.

Sounds interesting, I may have to investigate.

If you don't believe in a being who has always been, where was the material to build the universe come from?
I remember asking as a kid, if God created everything, who/what created God if everything must have a beginning. To which the answer was “God always was.”
If we take the human need to personify creation/God out of the equation, there’s no difference in simply believing that existence always was.
Accepting that God always was but that existence before the Big Bang had to be created is illogical. Christians just personify it.
I’m born and raised in Catholic schools, not trying to belittle anyone’s beliefs.

Clearly there are some things that aren’t understood, and may never be. This is one of those things.

I’m a dumbass, but I’ve gone down the rabbit hole a few times. You are correct that we collectively have no clue and never will.

I'd start here: m = E/(c^2)

Interesting ....and you know for a fact, that man before Eve had only twelve?
Stupid presumption of insanity, when the remains of Adam are not on display. But you did a cursory study of science and are therefore now a self declared god ....

4.5 billion years give or take, and as was said above, that is fact based on science. Not “the science,” of course, but real science. Like physics and shite like that.
I have no idea how old the earth is but you thinking they can guess with any accuracy that something is multiple billions of years old is as laughable as the 6,000 year people.

If you want to argue that there’s many variables that could change the scientifically accepted age of the earth from say 4.5 billion to 3.5 billion, well then okay, I can get the general point without being able to prove or disprove.
But it’s a far cry from 6,000. There is an abundance of things on earth that we KNOW are FAR older than that.
I guess the point I would end with is that neither requires anyone to renounce their religion.
We accept that much of the Old Testament is utter horse sht- Leviticus is easy to pick on. But with a vague understanding of history and culture of the period, we can understand why they’re written without taking it literal.

And GPS wouldn't work if Einstein's theories weren't taken into account.
Clocks run faster in weaker gravitational fields and satellites feel weaker gravity than on the earth's surface because they are farther away.
But clocks on satellites also run slower than those on the ground because they are in motion relative to the ground. This is due to time dilation.
So when all of this is calculated, there is a 38 microsecond difference, which sounds like nothing but would start causing an error calculating location after only 2 minutes and the error
To my limited knowledge, this is all entirely accurate and indisputable in the scientific community.
Yet, it is amazing to me that scientists, on at least some level, are constantly testing Einstein's theory of relativity, not necessarily to prove it wrong or right, but to ensure that newly discovered information continues to confirm his original hypothesis.
This is what I was trying to communicate in my original post. The great thing about pure Science is that it understands that our knowledge, thru the collection of additional data, is constantly changing and scientific principles are never assumed to be 100% infallible. Therefore (and this is probably getting into semantics) there are no "facts" of science.

Do you believe 6,000-10,000 years?
Yes. NO DOUBT.
We really have only TWO choices on the matter:
1) Trust and believe GOD, the record of Creation, and the RECORDED genealogy of Adam ---> Jesus Christ?
2) Trust and believe MAN, and his history of manufactured theories, corruption, lying, hoaxing, subverted agendas, virtually trying to kill God in order to make himself "God" instead?
Simple and logical decision for me.

Pressurized organic matter that does NOT take "millions and millions of years". The Great Flood is the source of oil AND coal.
PROVEN, bruh. Don't believe me; Look it up (but prepared to go deeeep. Google won't make it easy for you.)
"Fossil fuel" -- no such thing. One more invention by "science".
