How often does your ac cut off during the day when your at home?

My ac has been running for like two hours. I had it on 75 and When I got home it was 73. I started cooking and doing laundry and the temp raised to 75. Is that normal? I understand the cooking heat and dryer probably don’t help but you would think it would be going down not up

once or twice a day.
78 when i'm home
85 when i'm at work or away
82 when i'm sleeping

I think you’re the only one who actually took that advice

I hear it cut off during the day every 20-30 minutes or so. Sounds like yours might be a little undersized

It’s not that difficult of a concept.
ETA: Buy a Nest Thermostat

Sounds miserable. I'd pay $700 electricity bills before I'm uncomfortable in my own house.

I refuse to believe you are comfortable while sleeping.

I used to keep mine at 78 and everyone thought I was crazy.
I really don’t know how I survived.

Easy fix...... the batteries re not strong enough to send thermostat info to unit and all u need to do is throw fresh batteries in thermostat and your back in business. Make sure your filter is clean and changed every month if u live in the south, especially Louisiana. Want to make sure your outside unit is washed really good annually as well. Not talking bout wetting it with hose, I’m talking yang it a part rinse and wash with coil cleaner, the whole 9yrds.
Sounds like It’s trying to keep up and it’s not having any luck. Probably hardly runs at night but prob never shuts off during the day. Most cases, people put it on 76 or higher when not at home then drop it to 66-68 when they get home. If it’s 95 outside and your trying to get it south of 75 degrees... good luck. We ask a lot of AC units if we are wanting temp diff of more than 20 degrees in the peak of summer heat.
I’d bet your low on Freon. Unit has been struggling to keep up all summer and has been successful. By working overtime, it’s making a shite load of water and something has plugged up your drain one and cause the overflow switch to shut off unit. If fan blower is still blowing then more than likely u need Freon and have low suction pressure. If outside unit is not running than it could be bad fan motor, capacitor or compressor. Hard to tell from where I’m standing.

Go outside and feel how much air is being expelled from the dryer vent. Now understand that an amount of air equal to that is being pulled into your home via gaps/cracks to "feed" the dryer. Thats 90+ degree air thats latent with humidity.
Whenever possible I hang my clothes out on the line.

72 all day and my ac runs about 20 mins out of a hour.

Mine honestly barely runs
Have it set to 75
I have a new build that has return vents in each room. House seems way way more efficient than my last house
I did have the problem of the ac not cooling in the afternoon. I would set to 75 and it would climb until about 9pm. Then finally cool. Was the evap coil which I got replaced for free because of known Lennox issues.
My new house is a Trane. I made sure to get that company when building

I'd be one miserable prick to be around if I slept with the ac at 82.

We turn ours up to 75 when we leave for work when we remember

I can see mine on my Sensi app. If we are in town, all 3 units are set at 75 during the day while away, 2 are at 70 when we are home and 67 at night. If out of town it’s 78 constant. Use to set it higher if we were away, but came home once and all the wife’s expensive face shite was melted.
The beach house is 75, 72 and 69. For some reason that house always seems cooler.
