This doesn't really mean anything though. Most of the bacteria on your phone wants to eat the dead skin and body oils. They aren't really concerned with causing infections.

Of course if you are treating an infectious disease then you should be carrying out proper hand washing protocols before handling your phone.

With it being the middle of flu/respiratory season...simple measures like cleaning your cell phone(and landlines at your office,work,etc) can help reduce the spread of these illnesses.

Every wonder how dirty your belt or the waist band of your pants are?

It's the first thing everyone touches after going to the bathroom. At least pants get washed, but I doubt most people clean their belts.

I think many just don't even ever think about cleaning their phone or make the connection between their phone and potential spread of infectious diseases.
