Usually soak my grill in hot water in the sink while getting everything prepped. I have a large BGE,so the grill rack isn't very big. Scrub it with this stone thing I got from my local ace store in their grill section to get the crap almost completely off. Too lazy to do it by burning off right after the cook. I usually just want to eat at that time.

Our HOA’s grill inspection is every Monday morning between the hours of 6am and noon. Our grill safety inspector goes yard to yard during that time.

If you don’ have a yellow ribbon on your grill’s handle that evening when you get home from work, you passed inspection.

Only when there’s so much grease and crap at the bottom that the dripping grease catches it all on fire and the area below the burners is on fire for 10-15 mins.

Sure, but scrub it every Monday morning or you’ll be standing tall before the man.

As far as a through cleaning, meaning taking my grilling area apart and getting down to bare bones, probably about 3 times a year.

I just cleaned mine last week, pulled out the grates, the heat shields, the 4 burners and the big pan that catches all the crap and gave them a thorough cleaning.

If you just heat the grill and scrape off crap from the grates, all that just accumulates in the bottom of the grill.

When I was done, I fired up the grill to heat it and dry any residual moisture and oiled the grates to be ready for the next use.

I use my grill at least 80-100 times a year.

To all of you claiming to have never heard of hamburger steak...apparently none of you have ever been in any diner in the world or mom and pop joint that does like a meat and 3 vegetable plate.

Again, I've heard of hamburger steak. When I think of hamburger steak I think of this:

What the op described is an oversize grilled patty. I'm not familiar with that. For the sake of the op I'm going to assume there is gravy involved.

Use grill mats and clean up becomes much easier. If you haven’t tried them they are great for fish, vegetables and just about everything else. They clean easy and can be used several times.

Grill died a couple of years ago. Bought the cheapest Wal-Mart grill (ranges from $64 to $88) to get us through until I decided on what I wanted next.

Thing is awesome. Grill comes right out, so do the two covers. Takes 2 to 5 minutes to clean, if that. Cooks up to about 15 big burgers at once and uses hardly any propane.

Still haven't upgraded and probably won't because I'm too busy laughing about how great the thing does every time I use it, or clean it.

The way these robohoes are progressing, such a thread is inevitable here.

Mine has a trap below the bottom catch pan and the burner covers. I usually clean all three every other grilling to prevent flareups.

This. Wtf. And no, meat n 3 is not a normal thing outside of the very Deep South.

Hamburger steak is cooked in the stove or sautéed and topped with gravy or something.

Never heard of grilling ground beef outside of a burger. Given, my only time in Alabama was 5 years at Auburn.

Eta: I'm gonna start a new thread on the food board because I'm actually quite intrigued.
