Based just on salary, wife and I make it in in LA, but not TX. If we include what we will make in profit on our investments, and stock awards, then we are 1% in most States

Income doesn't mean a damn thing. There are lost of people with nice six figure incomes that aren't really wealthy at all. Many of them spend too much, are heavily in debt, etc. It is wealth and the ownership of assets that separates the 1% from the rest.

It means a ton. If you make 1% income, you're not wealthy by choice. You can't accumulate 1% wealth and assets without the income at some point.

Take the taxes out and account for living expenses, etc. A $325k income is not going to get you to the real 1%.
