A lot of evidence for a book of fairy tales

Soooooo, if you think God and the Bible are fairy tales then you obviously don't think Mary had a little lamb, or, the cow jumped over the Moon, especially since we now know the Moon is flat.

The next time someone can give a good reason as to why they believe in the factual accuracy of Jewish mythology but the mythologies of every other culture are clearly just stories made up to explain natural phenomenon or teach a moral lesson…will also be the first time.
And agreeing with the morality lessons Jewish mythology was trying to impart compared to say Norse mythology is not a good reason.

How about the people who believe that the Big Bang is the beginning of life, 14.5 Billion years ago, or that Humans descended from a phucking monkey, and that the Earth is 4.5 Billion years old. You don't believe any of that, do you? I guess that's all fairy tales too, huh?

Do you feel the same way about the Koran?

Here are the levels of understanding of scripture:
1.) literal;
2.) allegorical (or denial under the premise the stories are too fantastical - this is you); and
3.) hidden / veiled (the truth).

Yet Bible prophecy is being fulfilled right before our eyes all the time

Well, you posted it as a refutation of my statement, but without much commentary. Why don’t you explain your reasoning to me?

Yeah, you’re going to have to show some evidence for this statement, chief.

You people who read the Bible as a literal historic text from cover to cover are as dangerous and stupid as they come.
It’s got lots of facts but lists of symbols you silly sheep.
In your opinion, what makes Bible literalists "dangerous"?
What frame of reference regarding "historical texts" and narratives do you consider factual or valid?

Probably not much worse. Not only do we allow perverts and pedos to survive and thrive but they get elected to public office.

To be fair, I've heard this all my life. Selling the end times has always been big business. Hell, back in the 70s one of my Mom's friend's mother who was a Jehovah's Witness was convinced the end of the world was imminent and sold off everything they owned, literally everything but a few pieces of clothing. We have other close family friends who have bought in fully to several prophecy preachers over the past decade or so. They're convinced now, too. Those preachers would tell me all about it for a small donation and a purchase of their latest book.
Like I said, selling the end times is big business.

quote:This is just not true. Science says something can’t come from nothing. That seems like evidence. You live your life as if God exists even if you don’t want to admit it, making moral arguments, believing in human rights, believing people should strive for “good”, believing it’s important to search for truth…
There’s zero evidence that “god” exists lol

Seriously?
Even much of the secular-pagan-gnostic observers acknowledge this to be the case.
Brutha, you'd best change course and 'tude. We're all standing before the Throne of God sooner rather than later. The Verdict is Final. (and forever).
FWIW:
According to “The Encyclopedia of Biblical Prophecy” by J. Barton Payne:
-- There are 1,239 prophecies in the Old Testament
-- 578 prophecies in the New Testament
-- Total of 1,817 prophecies.
-- These prophecies are contained in 8,352 of the Bible’s verses.
Since there are 31,124 verses in the Bible, the 8,352 verses that contain prophecy constitute 26.8 percent of the Bible’s volume.
