Average work day is 10-11 hours and I'm actually working at least 8-9 of it.

I do so little actual work that I almost stopped reading your OP because I didn't want to read that much.

My utilization rate (billables/total) is right at 69% ( )

So it is fair to assume that I work around that amount of time per day.

Assuming 40 hour work week (usual) this would mean I actual work around 28 hours a week, or 5.5 hours a day.

Granted that is a little skewed for times when I am really busy and work 60 billables. Washed out by the fact that some weeks I do not do anything.

I work in healthcare so I usually work like an effing dog. Mostly 7:30/8am to 5:30/6pm and I'm mostly on my feet. I have to make a conscious effort to sit every once in a while. Don't really get a lunch break. Grab a few bites of food when you can. Plus side is half day fridays and you can make 6 figures if you bust your arse.

I get to work at 6 every morning and probably get more work done in two hours than most of you do all day... and I have never needed any of those stupid drinks to get me over the hump by 2 in the afternoon.

My first job out of college was an accounting/finance position for a fairly large company. After a few months of doing not much of anything and hearing a co-worker say that he was entirely finished doing everything possible he could work on by 10am each day, I kept track the next two weeks

Every time I did anything work related I started the timer on my iphone. The first week was our busiest week of the month. 5 hours and 45 minutes total. The second week was our slowest. 1 hour and 35 minutes total.

if that's true you certainly get more done than I do
fortunately I found a career that doesn't require me to do very much

who wins?

I'd rather not say.

You know.. because of the implications.

I can relate. I am a year and a half into my first job right now and some days I finish everything by 10/10:30. I started doing some Excel training courses at the urging of a few people on the Money Board and have gotten pretty damn good at it. I think I am going to try and learn a little German with my free time as well.

I work at a large company and I'm busy most of the day Mon-Thur; even work a few hours at night sometimes to keep up. We get every other Friday off so when we're in on Fridays it's pretty slow and I can slack a bit.

To those who work a few hours a day, what the hell is your job and how much do you make?

Most days, I get to the office around 7AM after my morning jog. I drink a large coffee and do a whole days worth of work in the first 3 hours. It's amazing what I get accomplished between 7 and 10.

After that its hit and miss.

-Sometimes I will work from home after 11am while getting drunk.

-Sometimes I will go out into the field and check on people.

-Sometimes I will take clients to lunch.

-Sometimes I will eat a huge lunch and take a 2 hour nap.

I usually end up answering emails from home between 4-7pm.

It can definitely vary, but on average I would say I actually work about 2 hrs. Every 8 hr. Shift. Sometimes I can be really busy and work 7 hrs. In a day but then I may not do shite for the next week. So far this week I have done absolutely nothing in 2 days. Hardest thing I've done is go to the gym for 45 minutes during lunch break

I work 12 hour shifts. In my last 3 shifts at work, I've watched the first 2 seasons of Narcos on Netflix and started the 3rd, as well as a damn near a full evening of football last Saturday night. Thank God for unlimited data. The most important tool I need at work is my phone charger.
