$1750 is definitely exorbitant, even today. Friends must be real ballers.

I think I paid about $650 for one place then $450 for another. Mid 2000's. They were both real shitholes though in the middle of the ghetto where I would somewhat regularly hear gunshots. In hindsight if I had planned things better I could have avoided it, at least to some extent, but frick it.

I forgot about that place I had my sophomore year on Burbank. I can't remember how much it was. I think around $650 or $600 too. It was a pretty big shithole too, but at least it wasn't dangerous.

1 bedroom loft off Jennifer Jean 2013-2017, 650/month, utilities included.

Worth every penny to be able to walk to bogies and campus.

I got more arse because my place was walking distance to the bars than I care to admit.

my rent now is $350 lmao. renting from a relative. my last place in baton rouge was 400 a month. there were 3 of us in a house across from the staring motel. before that it was 366 a month split between 4 of us in the westhaven subdivision. we always had 2 or 3 random people living on the floor and chipping in on bills. straight up flop houses

At Alabama, I lived in a new, at the time, apartment for about 250/ mo. Two bedroom. So, I paid half that with another roommate.
This was 1980's.
The exact same units now, which looks like they haven't done anything to the place since, are now $1300/month.

Same for me. Two of us, 2 bedroom with the bedrooms being upstairs, 2.5 bath, kitchen, living room downstairs, $400-$475 each (rent went up a little each year).

$550 each for a 2BR with my best friend at Brooke Hollow just a few years ago. Looking back, I loved that place. Walking distance to Fred's without being robbed, right next to Hungry Howie's for a pitstop after leaving bars and an AM Mart sandwich(during the day), and impressionable enough for girls brought over that they didn't feel sketched out.

Also, $325 for a house off of Lila/GSRI. Those places were shitholes, though

I pay more than $150 for cable but it includes internet. I cut the cord and didn’t like it. But I’m OT rich so whatever.

This was right by campus close to Nicholson. Actually immediately on Burbank, so a lot of traffic and lights makes me think at least that people are less likely to pull some shite like that.

My last year at MSU was 2012. My last four years I lived in the apartments on Yellow Jacket Dr. Across the road where I lived was Das Prescott. Very cool.

Our townhouse was $525/month with two bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. We split everything for a comfy $262.50/month with half of all the utilities which probably totaled another $120 or so...so, living on $400 a month. Ahhhh...the good ole days.

3 bedroom house about 3 blocks from campus. $85/mo, split three ways.

Yeah, it was a while ago...but it was cheap even then.

Using my veteran benefits to pay my mortgage by going to school full time.

But that rent is probably right. I just did orientation the other day for my bachelors at a university and the kid and his dad next to me were discussing it. I did not have to go to the orientation for that part, but it seems like that and their medical is quite expensive for young students/parents.
