I have no problem providing a nice wedding for my child. She'll appreciate it and I'll be more than happy to do it. But thanks for the insult on my child rearing already

We didn't ask our parents to throw us a wedding of that size and expense. They offered.

If people have the money I'm all for them throwing a great wedding.
I never grew up going to big weddings and was initially against it, but it ended up being awesome.

Wouldn't change a thing.

To each his own. I think spending upwards of $40k on a damn truck is pretty dumb too, but some people like that.

Once you have money to give you'll understand why.

Well that's just dumb. What's the point of making money if not to enjoy it with your family.

Well, that's great, sport, but the wedding has almost nothing to do with you, it's for her.

That's why we all dress alike. If the groom falls over, everybody slides one step to the left and the ceremony continues.

Too damn much, but my wedding and rehearsal were in the same building and after we went downtown which was a block away from where we gave vows. We didn't overdo it. Hired a seafood caterer and had lots of booze. I was not going to let my guests not have a drink. It was about 12K for the spot and all the other stuff. My wedding was small. I had 2 groomsmen. Wife has 2 bridesmaids. 30-40 people at ceremony. About 150 after. At the end of the day, it was all worth it.

500 maybe? Not sure was a long time ago. Money well spent I'd say though.

Oldest daughters wedding was 15 grand.

Probably less than $50 at the JOP.

And after 15 years, we're still just as married as those who paid five figures.

Wife and I would do it the same way again if we had it to do over again.

I don't know what our final number was, but we budgeted around $5,000 and stuck pretty close to that from what I remember. Had a free location, my grandfather paid for catering as a gift, my aunt did all the planning, and we had friends brew beer for alcohol. Very greatful for those things! It was a cheaper wedding but enjoyable, IMO. It also helped it was outdoors on a ranch, so the scenery was beautiful and we didn't have to spend a ton on flowers/decorations.

One thing I would have spent more money on was our photographer, but we didn't have many options due to location. Still got some nice photos though.

Wedding was over 250k, but everyone had a good time. I barely remember it, but I'm sure it was a blast in the moment.
