It’s summer time and women from around the world will be there. Crowd camera pans are gonna be lit.

What's the World Cup?

I’ll probably be the watching all the traffic from this Charlie Foxtrot since my office isn’t far away.

When I'm not working on our garden, painting and reglazing windows in our passive solar porch, I'll be reading the book that just came out on The Black Death: a Global Plague bu Thomas Asbridge. The author wrote IMO the best book I've ever read about knightood, The Greatest Knight. I admire the way he covers a subject almost exhaustively.
The TV might be on to a game, but my attention will be on whatever book I'm reading.

Not a soccer fan, but the World Cup is great TV. Any true competitor knows this.

I'll watch every match I'm able to. I'll have to skip the ones that take place in the middle of the night over here. Our office in Scotland is closed the day after their opening match.

May watch some of the US matches until I get bored
But will watch none of the other matches
I don’t care to watch Ivory Coast against Curacao or whatever
I don’t know any of the players and don’t care to

I'll have it on in the background.
Hoping to see my first ever goal. They've only ever happened when I looked away.

Can you cite your research?
It's been in the New England Journal of Research a bunch of times. I'm driving right now but will post link after I get home.

All these baws complaining about how boring it is probably travel for 10 hours every weekend to watch Braxxxton strike out with his $500 bat.

Recording every game, will watch every second of the big matches and I’m actually going to Germany/Curacao and maybe Japan/Netherlands

Baseball > soccer.
Not even close.
Not even close.

as much as is convenient
I don't like the NBA but I watch some of the Finals. I don't invest time in hockey but I watch some Stanley Cup
Always odd to me that people would intentionally and proudly swerve huge national or international events.
