Bruh, I'm trying to just enjoy myself for a few minutes before I leave work, not do calculus.

A little less than 4 times what I made coming out of school in 2010.
ETA: if we're using percentages, 370% more than my starting salary.

Are you comparing responses in here to the ones in the starting salary thread a few days ago?

Nice try.

Guess I missed that thread.

I have to say, the people with the biggest gains must have started at lower income levels for their entry jobs, or switched to more lucrative fields.

Making 4 times what I started at would put me in the top 2% of earners.

168% of my original base salary. Maybe I need a raise.

It wasn't meant as a knock or anything. Just kind of thinking out loud.

Or the much easier way is to do

(Current Pay - Original Pay) / Original Pay

You're right, but I guess it's not a big deal to me either way. If my friends really want to know how much I make, I would tell them. I would think it was weird though.

You left out a step to get to the percentage.

Regardless, I wouldn't classify your way as "much" easier. They are literally the same steps, I just did the subtraction after dividing.

ETA: OT sucks at math apparently.
