Shitty people think they can reform a critter that has dangerous natural tendencies. I've had reactive dogs. I kept them away from others and small animals, like a responsible person. Pits are victims of circumstances. Shitty people breeding them for the wrong reasons.

Dude I work for the state of California as a first responder and when I respond to wildfires I work with animal control officers, which in rural areas are sometimes just a sheriff, and it’s totally dependent on the area. In riverside, a lot of the dogs are now trending towards GSD and malinois mixes because that’s what the dealers are preferring now a days. Does that mean you’re going to start advocating for people to start murdering our dogs?

Sure pit bulls are overbred. I saw a smoking hot woman walking a pit today and was thinking if I had to put up with dudes or was sexually assaulted I would get whatever dog made me feel safe enough to walk outside and frick whatever anyone else thought about it. Is that the dogs fault it’s overbred? Does that make it ok for frick sticks to go to their neighbors and poison someone’s pet with antifreeze or shoot it with a full clip like those other posters were saying?!

Dude, just man the frick up and say you were wrong and do better. You already said it in this thread. People bond with their pets. And it’s that person’s responsibility. End of the discussion. Nothing you will say makes it ok to go murder someone else’s dog because it is a pit bull.

My malinois was surrendered to the shelter in riverside for being aggressive and I rehabilitated him and trained him because I know what I’m doing and what I am talking about. Some people don’t know what they’re doing. Other people do.

So, it is the dog or it’s the person. Because you said both. Pick a side.

It depends on quality of life, age and long time prognosis, we always need to remember that we can't keep them around for us

Drive to a small town DFW suburb and save a couple thousand. This is also a great way to walk into a DMV with no wait to get a DL.

You just started shite with the one person arguing against it and you’re still now talking about pits and how they’re unredeemable.

Either way, I’m happy you’re saying you’re now because technically both GSD’s and malinois fall under dangerous breeds along with various pit breeds. So, get rid of pits and then they’re coming for GSD’s next.

Before I saw the pic, that was entirely too much money. After I saw the pic, all the money you have would be appropriate

You can get health insurance for dogs. A friend of our did.

One thing that would be good is to have some diagnostic testing done before dogs develop full blown cancer. Maybe start doing X Rays and ultrasound at about seven. My Golden Retriever got sick and collapsed. She had a tumor on her heart. If that could have been discovered a year or two earlier, I would have paid for treatment.

Put my dog down today, hardest thing I’ve ever done.

I spent a ton of money on him over the years and every penny was worth it.

I will say that I’m sure I could have prolonged his life another 6 months or so with medications this go round, but his quality of life wasn’t great. 15 wonderful years with my guy.

We have almost 9 year old pugs. Every 6 months they try to convince us they both need ear washes and cultures and antibiotics for their ear infections. We clean their ears every week. We know when they have infections and treat them.

A couple of weeks ago Jolly starting crying and couldn’t walk. We took him to the emergency vet and did x-rays. He has hip dysplasia and it was probably that. He for gabapentin for about a week so to keep him calm. About $700 total. So far so good.

Beignet had a tumor removed. His was about $3000. We said we’d do it once, and that’s it. So far. No more tumors.

We keep them updated on shots and vet visits every 6 months. All paid for by their pet plan. We won’t go to extremes, but we will keep them comfortable and not let them suffer.

I’m over 20k for an adopted Great Dane that’s probably 6 now so at least 20k

Had a Dane mix that when I totaled up insurance claims was $35k. That 90% reimbursement and low deductible added many years to her life, as I wouldn’t pay that but I will pay 3,500
