Newsome is no doubt salty too since Elon is moving out of California so he's trying to take action against him, but Elon has more IDGAF money than anybody in history. Newsome is really picking on the wrong guy.

That being said, Twitter/X for sure is pretty trash now. Not rooting for it to fail and I don't think it will ever die, but it's not what it once was. And I say that strictly from what my feed is. NSFW, bots, comments that don't even go along with the post, algorithm that has nothing to do with what I watch/like history.

Yea i had the wholesome skateboarding vid from that account mixed in with some political dogshit and some dude getting his arse kicked. Balance?

Its overall a worse experience. The banger tweets that disappear before you can even read them, videos finishing and jumping to new videos, reply spammers, bogus accounts, the same 5 stupid “viral tweet” accounts always popping up retweeting the same 4-5 viral tweets. I feel like most twitter users at least miss old twitter discourse. I hate opening an interesting tweet and scrolling through 20+ replies of completely unrelated videos from engagement farming accounts before i can find serious discussion.

Oh yea and those useless notifications informing you some accounts you don’t even follow tweeted something 3 days ago.

I just use the following feed, it's great. Only following 150ish, plenty for me between all the re-tweets and people high lighting other stuff. Much better than everyone getting banned

X is beating the ever living shite out of Facebook.

Sure, Facebook had a Trillion users (mostly fake and dead accounts) but X has ten trillion more interactions than Myspace (oops, I mean Facebook)

Advertisers don't want their ads ending up on the same page of a Nick Fuentes Holocaust denying tweet.

I don't mind if musk runs Twitter as a totally unfiltered platform, but it's totally reasonable for advertisers to disassociate themselves from said platform.

Twitter has always been massive, but they've also always had the monetization issue.

All that engagement doesn't mean shite if you can't monetize it.

If Elon bought it as a pet project to promote open discussion and free speech that's fine, but he can't get mad when advertisers bail because the open format invites some unsavory content.
