A quesadilla at taco bell is $6.99. A Quesadilla at my local Mexican restaurant is $6.50. I just don't get fast food anymore. I order to go from normal places.

Most companies in America have decided that profit by volume and loss leaders is not the way forward anymore. Now it’s about the “luxury” aspect and extracting every red cent out of you.

It'll survive when people receive value for their food. Vendors need to resolve the question why am I paying +$10 for this $5 burger?

I mean, you can taste the difference in the ingredients since 2018.

The food really doesnt taste the same and I dont think my taste buds changed.

Gotta learn to eat less. You don't need anything more than a chicken sandwich for lunch. Skip the fries and soft drink.

In 2016 I worked at a place that was pretty close to a McDonalds and would go there for lunch. I would get the 2 kid's hamburgers and a coke for $3.20 something.. Didn't have fast food until a couple of years ago I was starving and had one option and that was a McDonalds I got the same items and this time it was $6.50... That was the last time I had fast food...

Every fast food joint in my Area is always busy.
Except burger king. Its the people that work there.
You change the people, that burger king joint would be popular.

Taco Bell in my area uses AI at the drive thru window. I knew something was up because it hasn’t gotten an order wrong yet.

Chick Fil A recently tore down a perfectly good building near me and went total drive through. Still busy as ever.

but if you own any type of fast-food establishment you have to be nervous going forward.

As someone who is part-owner of a franchise group that owns more than 50 Dairy Queens and Sonics, I can assure you there’s no nervousness. Sales and transactions are through the roof. People love, and will always love, fast food, regardless of price.

You can get a burger and unlimited fries at Chili’s or Applebees for $10. Much better than any fast food combo.

McDonald's has $5 burger or chicken sandwich plus nuggets fries and drink. Wendys has similar biggie bag deal so did BK but havent been in awhile. We only order from.

Growing up in 80s fast food was a treat. Now it's many families' normal routine. Plus you now have many folks ordering fast food delivery. I'd guess fast food is here to stay and will continue to increase prices as long as their customers arent price sensitive.
