Why do people pay cash for vehicles when interest rates are so low? If rates were 5-6%, sure, pay cash. Not when they're 2%.

If you wait for the right time change that 2 to a 0.

This thread going about exactly how I thought it would.

No one has a note, everyone pays cash, everyone has 250k jobs.

Yep. Mine is just 8 years old and paid off. I did finance it for 4 years though. I don't typically have 35k just sitting around

We have a note on my wife's (no pics) SUV. But it ain't a truck, and it ain't mine.

And neither of us are making $250k.

Never pay cash for a depreciating asset. Ever. Lease preferably, finance second. Don't pay cash...

People act like having a note is a bad thing. In some cases dealer incentives make it more attractive to have a short term loan. Depending on the terms the overall price at the end of the note can be cheaper than paying cash.

The monthly note can vary because of down payment, length and interest rate. I wouldn't use the monthly note amount as the deciding factor.

2012 Frontier $0
2016 Tahoe $600

I'm not paying cash for a 50k vehicle with a 1.9% interest rate

Yeah paying cash when you can finance with such low interest rates is pretty dumb.
Guess it's all about listening to Dave Ramsey though. LOL

That $35K that you saved up to pay cash for a new truck that you could have been investing actually set you back from your financial goals.....unless of course your financial goals are something other than maximizing your wealth.

This. My FJ is a 2008 and I only have 70k miles. Ill have this thing forever it seems because I'm driving it until it dies or im OT enough to pay cash for a 50k truck.

My note was like $308 though.

Im actually leasing right now. Patiently waiting for either the new Baby NSX or Supra.

No need for a truck. I can pay plebs to move my shite.

I have an 06 single cab tundra for the SO but the rear end is going out and I kinda wanted to trade it in for something with more room.

To the guy who drives cars and bashes truck drivers, I'm a country boy. We pull shite with our trucks, leave the asphalt, use it as a truck not a Cadillac.
To ole company man shorty, I just left a job that gave me a company truck. I used it for work. I didn't parade around and act like it was my truck.
As far a paying for a house on cash, no but I am about to put 50% down and a house we are building.

I'm not looking for jump in for 50k for a truck, I don't want to pay 30k lol. I drive a 2001 beat up farm truck. I just want the wife yo have a decent truck with low miles and 4x4 and more room than a single cab. She drives a lot. Before you fruit cakes ask, yes she will be pulling a boat, she hunts, shoots a bow better than you all because she's native american, can drive a tractor and you're not getting any pics! But thanks for the replies.

You must have put a large chunk down and you have an extremely low rate.
