The more you spend, the more you love them. Other guy just loves his son 80k more than you do yours

God damn, Mr. Wizard. Way to be a whole fricking wet blanket.

Too goddamn much. Louisiana Cheer Force is a money pit. To make it worse, they're the "best" around but lose more than they win in this subjective judging bullshite sport. Oh, plus the doctor bills because she gets injured a good bit. I have Jeremy Burnham, MD as a contact on my phone now.

I spend around $20k per year on racing and trainers.
If someone has the extra money and the kids enjoy it then it just comes down to what a family can afford.

How much are you saving for your kids college? Your retirement? How old is your kid?

Damn man. I’ve raced dirt bikes for 40+ years… my kids 10+ yeras. Been to Loretta Lynn’s many times and have never come close to spending that amount. I know people do and even more but it’s possible without dropping that kind of money. shite my brother in law spends that much on his kids baseball.

World needs ditch diggers too when the racing dreams are dashed on the rocks of reality.

Has anyone from Louisiana actually made a living racing motocross in the last 20 years? Other than kdub of course

As an 80s kid I was lucky to get a new baseball glove instead of a hand me down. I feel like even if you have the extra money you shouldn't spend asinine amounts of money on kids.
I still follow the same rule my parents had for us kids when it comes to cars. I'll match whatever amount the kid saves for their first car. That way the kid has their own work invested in the car so they take care of it.
My oldest is 25 and still drives the car he bought when he was 17. Four years ago I put a new engine in it with a tractor in our back yard. He loves that old car cause he earned it and I help him with it because he takes care of it.

In your particular case you absolutely should be spending money for quality safety gear and training to ride safe. These baseball people are just nuts.

It's all too much. $18k for DANCE in one year (of which maybe $1300 was Lacrosse.) Why you got college debt? Maybe because your parents shoveled money into activities and not a 529.
Everyone forgets how little kids can actually be OK with. Most of the spending is driven by parental dreams, hopes and expectations, not what the kids want. Your kid would probably be fine racing his friends locally.
frick travel ball, with a dildo sideways. I know some of you that live in tiny markets "need" to travel for competition, but it's a total scam. Why does any team, playing any sport, need to travel outside of Texas, for any reason? There are close to nine million people in Houston, if you're playing soccer or baseball, or volleyball, you don't need to go to F(@ing Florida, or California, etc.

I bought a $70k bass boat so my 2 boys can fish high school bass tournaments.
Was eventually gonna buy one regardless but just sped up the process.

I am 100% serious when I say it depends on how talented they are. It’s that simple. If someone tells me this kid is just not normal, I’ll eat cereal to give my kid the best chance they have if they love it.
The problem is there is a whole travelball-industrial complex built to tell parents of average-to-good kids that their kids are potentially elite, in order to milk money out of them.

Hes the most popular. Trampas Parker was from LA and won two world motocross championships overseas. Few other riders have got pro licenses but not as much success as windham.

Are you a rare earth minerals dealer that exclusively trades with sheiks and oligarchs?

It depends on your income. That’s the truth. One man’s ability to 5K, 10K, 15K, etc. is not another man’s.
