Who tf gets a party planner for a kids birthday party? Get a cake and let the kids play in the yard or something while you cook. Man you need to get your hoe on a leash, that bitch be runnin wild.

Evidently the planner takes care of all the details: picks a theme, contacted a food caterer, found a bakery to make the cake, secured the band, provided attendants for the adult bar and those type of things. She also sets everything up and takes everything down. Seems like too much for a young child’s party, that’s why I was asking.
El Gaucho?
Unless this is a great troll, enjoy living in debt your entire life no matter your income level. This is a big problem and this party is only a small symptom

Kids parties are so expensive.
Spent probably $500 or so when mine turned 4. But we also bought a bounce house, that still gets used 2 years later, so not bad.
When he turned 5 we rented his gymnastics gym for 2.5 hours and they took care of everything for $270. We just has to bring food.

Also, as a parent bringing a kid to parties, 2 hours is a perfect *maximum* duration. Went to one with a caterer and all that, and 4 hours in they hadn’t even done presents and cake. They didn’t say on the invitation to plan to spend the rest of the day/evening there. It was annoying.

We had ours in June. Backyard. Made a chocolate cake with toy 4x4s mudding in it. Invited neighbors (in MT for summer so limited established friends there). Put on music. Turned on sprinkler. Had some cheap Dollar Tree decorations and a few things we ordered off Amazon.
The whole shebang including gifts was wellll under treefiddy. Our boys made some likely lifetime friends that day (spent every second together this summer after that).

It's expensive enough just to get the minimum. Cake from a local grocery is 50-60, food probably 100, drinks another 100, then if you rent a water slide or bounce house.
We do "splurge" and do a combined party for my 2 oldest, and rent a spot at a trampoline park or something like that for ease but that's still 600-800.

I was able to piggyback on my dad’s bday party last weekend for that. They rented a big slide for the grandkids. Money well spent. Between that and the pool they were worn TFO by sundown.

Back in the day, McD’s parties were great! And their cake was good, too.

Party planner for a 4 year old? I don’t even know what to say to that.

I rented a room in the community center. Bought a light up karaoke machine and a cake. $150.

Sounds like your wife needs to stop being lazy and one of you work the party for your child.
No issue at all with spending the money for your child if that’s what you want, inflating the money significantly because you are unwilling to do it though is weird

the check my wife cut to the party planner and it was well into the four figures
But think how great the pics will look on the gram and Facebook. I can see the envy in the other mom’s eyes now. We did cake, ice cream and a jumpy. If you spend more than 500, I pity you. Imagine the difference being invested for her college, wedding, house.

she’s spending that on a birthday party behind his back, just think how much she’s gonna take in the divorce

If you paid several thousand dollars for a kids birthday party, at any age, you’re a retard.
Even if I had billions, I doubt I’d do that.
Because I’m not stupid.

$270 isn’t bad bc you are in and out. A tray of finger sandwiches, cake and drink and done.

This is hilariously sad. Enjoy lower middle class forever.
