That’s insane. How is that remotely possible?

Pretty easy actually. I buy half a cow from a farmer and put it away. I buy 50lbs of fresh shrimp and put away. So if you want to average that out you could add $100 to $150. Those are one time yearly costs though and not monthly recurring. Chicken and pork are cheap. Bill goes down significantly if you don’t have to purchase proteins and do a little planning.

Also, the bill is significantly less if you shop yourself instead of sending the wife.

GF works out of town for some stretches. So when it's just me it was about $50 bucks a week... But that has turned into about $70 since Biden has done his work... When she is here I lose touch with spending..

3 of us. We spend 400 on groceries and $600 eating out. I travel for work so the eating out adds up.

Do y'all just not cook and get Door Dash for every meal? $625/week is wild to me for 2 people.

Yeah, for two people that seems like a lot.

I guess we don't eat out a lot in comparison. We get takeout or order pizza maybe once per week.

My wife and I probably eat out for lunch once per week. Otherwise, we eat leftovers and/or cook at home.

You could buy a nice house for what some people in this thread spend on restaurants.

I do most of the shopping and don’t keep track of what I spend. We eat mostly venison, haven’t bought beef in years. The venison probably isn’t any cheaper than buying beef but Iove to hunt and I feel it’s healthier than feedlot beef.We buy baby back ribs once every month or two.Pork loin once in awhile.

Wife is a very good cook and neither of us really care about going to restaurants.

What’s crazy is I find nowadays I have to make restaurant reservations longer in advance than ever before. Maybe if prices reached a less affordable level there would be more availability.

Man…I’m attacking our food budget now and it’s hard. Also, the more you try to eat real food the harder it gets. A chuck roast is $25, steaks for 4 are $50…..shite, decent milk is $4 per half gallon. We go through over a dozen eggs per week and they’re $6 a dozen. That shite adds up over a month and that doesn’t include the $500 trip to Costco to buy what you can in bulk every couple of months. .

You have to consistently eat in and focus on meals that feed a lot and are cheap. Spaghetti, tacos, pizza, etc. But if you slip and pick up a few days in a row you can hit $200 real quick.
